Lava Mine
This is my Final project
presentation and is about creating sounds and putting it in the map game, to re
create a new sound in the game
I create 15 sounds for this
game, sounds like ambience, Fire spot, Fire burn, pickups, elevators and steam.
All this sounds make a perfect combination in the game, because what I try to
create was a tension and psychedelic game. That why I used a Guns n Roses song
“Patience” Like a Background to create a happy and psychedelic sound, my
stingers sounds really impressed me because they combined perfect with the
game, my stingers sounds like falling walls and rocks, so lava mine was perfect
for this type of stingers because the whole game is around a cave so the
falling walls were perfect. I really
expect something more from my elevators sounds because I realize that the
elevators were from wood so my elevators sound more like metal.
My lava flow combines really.
Good with the atmosphere of the game. Because its give you the impression that
the lava is getting closer to you
The pickups sound was the
most easy and simple sound to re create, my pickup game is one of my favorites
in the game
The way, how I implement my
Ambience interior and Backgrounds were using Ambient Sound Simples Actors and
mix it until I get a nice mix, with the spacebar I can increase the sound in
the whole game or just in some parts, and that’s what I did put the ambience
sound in the whole game so you can listen to around the whole game.
For my stingers I used
AmbientsoundNonLoop Actors I place my stingers in the roof of the caves to make
it sound like falling rocks, I really like how the stingers sounds in the map
For the elevator I open
Kismet in UDK Editor and create two new sound Cues for the Elevator up and
Elevator Down then I created a new play sound and connected with Matinee that’s
is the trigger that allows the automation with the elevator.
What I did for my pickups was
just replace the sound cue that was all ready created and put the sound that I created
and connect it.
Whole the sounds that I
created for this game have Compressors, EQ’s, and reverb. Most of the, sound
are samples from the FSO search program, and layering with other sounds from
FSO Search program. For the Guns n Roses song I cut the beginning from the
whistles and paste it in logic and create a loop with that.
This Project was a nice
experience for me to create sounds and putting together in a game.
